I began my yoga journey many years ago. As I have continued my practice and education in yoga, I have discovered much more about myself and my body; my practice continues to evolve all the time. Physically, yoga brings about strength and flexibility, and mentally, you begin to notice a certain calmness and peace of mind until eventually you start to notice that what you are doing on the mat begins to cross over into what you’re doing in your daily life.
Having been teaching for many years, and having completed my 500 hours of instruction and teaching 1,000 plus hours to become an Experienced Registered Yoga teacher, I have gained more insight into the Yoga philosophy and bring such insight into to all of my classes. Challenging my participants physically, and helping everyone to find that mind and body connection, I like to explore and learn about chakras (energy centers), pranayama (breath), and asanas (postures). Sharing these aspects with my classes, I have taken trainings which address the needs of the spine and even the needs of special populations such as prenatal and seniors. I design my sessions to meet the needs of the individual, and I am very foundational in my teaching style. This means that everyone in my class can find a place to be in all postures. I truly believe that YOGA is for EVERY BODY, the secret is merely finding the right class for your body.
I am also certified in Pilatesfit, meaning that I continue to further advance my knowledge of proper body mechanics. With this, I have realized the truly significant roll that proper body mechanics plays in yoga postures, as well as developing the strong core girdle in pilates. I even offer a combination class of yoga and pilates, the best of both disciplines.
